Mission
Provide financial and business support to the R&D Functional Area with focus on the Business Partnership with Global Clinical Development and Project Management and contribute to the result optimization of the area through closing, reporting, analysis, procedures and innovation.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Monitor and improve the internal control processes assuring the consistence and the validation of the financial information in the area.
- Prepare and analyze the monthly area reporting and deviations of the clinical trials ensuring the closing on time and quality, and continuously monitor the clinical trial costs by cost center, order numbers and projects, understanding the main cost drivers (risks & opportunities, force-out). Improve and implement the reporting in PBI.
- Participate in the Contract Research Organizations (CRO) negotiations and review of financial contractual clauses with Global Procurement and Global Clinical Development, being part of the Outsourcing Development Team (ODT).
- Create the Purchase Orders in Ariba for the clinical trials and follow up the monthly Good Receipts and invoices with the International Clinical Trial Managers (ICTMs) according to the accounting guidelines.
- Coordinate the invoice booking and supervise the contractual financial conditions of the CRO contracts.
- Advise the ICTMs with alerts on deviations vs budget or forecast and contractual situations, giving support with expert accounting knowledge.
- Financial management and participation in the planning processes, Budget, Forecasting and 5 years forecast of the clinical trials budget with the ICTMs and Project Managers, guaranteeing the compliance of the finance corporate guidelines and deadlines.
- Support the functional area with expert accounting knowledge and on internal and external audit missions and execute audit recommendations.
Education
- University training: Economics, Business Admin. or similar, with complementary training (MBA or post graduate) an advantage
Specific Knowledge
- Familiar with the execution and analysis of the economical-financial reporting.
- Advanced user of SAP, BO, PBI and MS-Office (Master in Excel)
- Preferred: knowledge in the pharmaceutical sector and R&D

- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position or accounting
