Summary: This position plays a key Strategic and Operational role within EMEA. The Head, Commercial Operations shares responsibility for commercial performance with the geographic leaders; drives the brand planning process – including translating into aligned, budgeted, local operational tactics; co-leads the launch planning in collaboration with program management; represents the region in key global bodies (eg Arikayce GPT); is responsible for forecasting and insight generation in the region; supports expansion strategy; and shares best practice with other regions (US/Japan) around Insights generation, brand planning, etc. Responsibilities: Responsibilities :
- Has matrix responsibility – shared with sub-regional heads - for commercial performance across the region
- Leads EU marketing, Brand Planning, commercial messaging (including materials development, campaign and agency management at EU level) and support of the country teams in localizing content
- Co-leads the launch planning efforts for new product launches
- Works closely with the sub-region heads to enable the commercial launch in their respective regions
- Leverages the learnings and best practices from early launch (typically US) to EMEA markets
- Provides commercial insights into pipeline assets as it relates to EMEA launches
- Leads L&D activities for commercial across the region
- Provides the “voice of the region” within global commercial forums as required
- Leads the development of the pricing and reimbursement strategy for pipeline products and indications, and works in collaboration with the sub-regions to execute local market access initiatives and negotiations
- Leads the development of CRM, establishment and running of business KPIs and Analytics & generation of market insights (including 1o Market Research, Commercial Ad Boards)
- Manages external commercial partner selection, alliance management and planning for market expansion (including G2M strategy etc.)
- Leads forecasting for direct and indirect markets for all products (from phase 3 and beyond) in conjunction with the global commercial effectiveness team
- Owns the EMEA Incentive Comp programme
- Ensure the group operates at all times in a highly compliant manner, and within agreed budgets
Position Requirements :
- Demonstrated problem solver with high learning agility
- A strong strategic thinker with a demonstrated track record of effectively places individual topics in the broader strategic context
- 15+ years pharmaceutical commercial experience
- Experience commercializing in major EU markets
- Launch experience (ideally first in class), including good understanding of access requirements/ processes across the region
- Experience partnering with distributors in markets such as Nordics, Middle East, etc.
- Experience managing significant vendor projects and budgets
