My client is a global healthcare leader and their portfolio of life-changing technologies spans the spectrum of healthcare, with leading businesses and products in diagnostics, medical devices, nutritional products and branded generic medicines.
The Opportunity:
My client currently has an opportunity for Senior Systems Engineer to work in their Data Systems and IT support team.
The team supports the on-going development and deployment of data systems integration into their Global Manufacturing operations, to provide innovative state-of-the-art solutions that facilitate the company’s Factory 4.0 initiatives.
As the Sr. Systems Engineer you will be primarily responsible for software systems employed in the production of their sensors. Key areas of ownership will include the design and implementation of software-based systems for the real-time acquisition and storage of data from our production machinery, as well as system resilience in areas of automated back-up and recovery, and cyber security.
Areas of expertise are expected to include but are not limited to software interfacing with electro-mechanical systems in the operational technology layer, software development, database design and SQL query language, data management for real-time acquisition and storage, and cybersecurity. They generate/support system requirements for both bespoke developed and customisable off-the-shelf systems, work with original equipment manufacturers to guide detailed design implementation and manage system integration verification and validation activities. They will also be expected to provide support, guidance, and training to the local on-site support teams.
What You’ll Work On:
Working both on the delivery of software systems as well as the support and enhancement of data and IT systems at the existing facilities:
Technical expert for employed data and manufacturing operations management systems providing oversight for the on-site teams
Implement and validate new software systems for real-time data acquisition from the production machinery and laboratory processes
Implement and validate Oracle databases for data storage
Identify and deliver systems for both PC and PLC backup and recovery
Undertake cyber security risk analysis and manage programs to raise the maturity level for cyber security at the operational technology layer
Define roadmap and manage periodic updating of operating systems
Continuously improve processes and standards
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Systems, Mechanical, Computer, Electrical, Biomedical, or Software), or related discipline.
5+ years of in a similar position, including systems integration experience/integrating all system components (electrical, mechanical, software), system architecture, requirement/user need gathering.
Experience of software testing, verification and validation.
Demonstrated ability to effectively integrate information from varied disciplines and work within a highly regulated environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Engineering (Systems, Mechanical, Computer, Electrical, Biomedical, or Software), or related discipline.
