The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the operating and ongoing maintenance of the Information Technology and Datacentre infrastructure across the enterprise. This includes installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, monitoring and optimizing all storage and compute hardware, resources, virtualisation solutions and associated software and cloud services. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will also troubleshoot performance issues within the infrastructure and cloud services environment in use by Walkers. Please note this role is a 12 month Fixed term contract.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Subject Matter Expert for Server Compute, Active Directory, Storage, Virtualisation and key infrastructure management technologies, methodologies and standards.
  • Plan, implement and maintain equipment within Walkers' datacentres ensuring adherence to industry standards
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation
  • Support and deploy cloud solutions, specifically in Azure. Develop automated, scalable cloud solutions implementing CICD pipelines and industry standard automation technologies incorporating IaaC


Perform scheduled operational tasks including monitoring performance and capacity metrics across the infrastructure to maintain stability and prevent downtime. Identify performance bottlenecks and implements fixes accordingly




KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Professional certifications: HPE ASE or Master ASE certification, MCSE or Azure certification
  • Strong and proven skill level in scripting technologies, MS Powershell, Ansible and Bicep
  • Anti-Virus solutions, MS Defender
  • Monitoring solutions including Solarwinds and MS SCOM
  • Brocade Fibre Channel Switches
  • MS SCCM stack
  • VMWare and MS HyperV
  • HPE ProLiant servers, StoreOnce and 3PAR SAN's.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex Hardware, software and cloud
  • Experience in software-defined and cloud services
  • Experience in Disaster Recovery Management
