This is a fixed-term role for maternity cover – 9 months, Geneva-based, preferred start December 2024. The World Economic Forum, committed to improving the state of the world, is the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation. The Forum engages the foremost political, business, and other leaders of society to shape global, regional, and industry agendas. Why we are recruiting The Forum develops world-leading digital knowledge and collaboration tools, including its dynamic Strategic Intelligence platform and its Transformation Maps. The Strategic Intelligence team is looking for an energetic, detail-oriented Specialist who will contribute to the development of the virtual events programme. The Specialist will be responsible for developing and maintaining the virtual events calendar, collaborating with various teams across the Forum to showcase their outcomes to a broader digital audience, and coordinating virtual programmes at global Forum events. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, clear communication, and the ability to thrive flexibly within a complex organization. Reporting lines and interactions This position will report to the Practice Lead, Digital Engagement and Programming in the Strategic Intelligence team, and will work closely with the Specialist, Digital Engagement and Programming as well as the Head of Content and Partnerships. Main responsibilities Develop and Maintain Virtual Events Calendar:

  • Create and manage a comprehensive calendar of virtual events.
  • Ensure all events are scheduled, updated, and communicated effectively to relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor and track event timelines and deliverables to ensure timely execution.

Collaborate Across Teams:

  • Work with different teams within the Forum to understand their outcomes and how these could be channelled into the virtual programme.
  • Assist in curating content that highlights the achievements and initiatives of various teams and make them accessible to a wider audience.
  • Facilitate the integration of team outcomes into virtual events to maximize visibility and impact.

Coordinate Virtual Programs:

  • Plan, organize, and execute virtual programmes at global Forum events.
  • Coordinate with speakers, moderators, and technical teams to ensure seamless event delivery.
  • Manage event logistics, including virtual platform setup, attendee registration, and post-event follow-up.

Preferred requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in event planning and coordination, particularly in a virtual environment.
  • Broad intellectual background with a strong interest in and understanding of relevant issues.
  • Strategic thinking with ability to identify trends and patterns of transformation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work with leading experts and practitioners.
  • Team player and self-starter who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written, digital, and verbal communication skills with fluency in English.
  • Ability to communicate complex information succinctly.
  • Proficiency in virtual event platforms and digital marketing tools.
