Process Engineer Polymer Technology - Full Time - Winterthur, Switzerland

To strengthen our Process Engineering Team in Winterthur (Zurich area, Switzerland), we are looking for a


Process Engineer - Polymer Technology


In this role you will be accountable for:


  • Process design and calculations of entire chemical plants, from pilot scale to world-scale commercial plants
  • Planning and support of pilot tests
  • Analysis and evaluation of comprehensive data from our pilot plants
  • Sales support during tender phase
  • Preparation of Basic Engineering documents
  • Reviewing of Detail Engineering documents
  • Sizing of Sulzer proprietary equipment
  • Takes ownership for improvement and development of the technology - in coordination with R&D
  • Responsible for the Sulzer process technology in project teams and towards our clients
  • Participation in client meetings, support and advisory service at client’s site
  • Start-up supervision of our polymer plants
  • Global travelling approx. 20%


To succeed in this role, you will need:


You have a university degree in process, mechanical or chemical engineering and looking forward to contribute with your talent and engagement to a well-established team of innovative process engineers. You have at least 5 years of experience in technology/process development, design and construction of chemical plants, ideally in the field of separation, bio processes and/or polymer technologies. You will work in a core discipline of engineering, play a key role in Industrial projects and maintain regular contact to our international client base. You like to travel and spend time abroad for meetings and commissioning. You are fluent in English and other languages are an asset. Moreover, you are able to adapt to people in other disciplines and various cultures. Your colleagues appreciate your hands-on personality with a passion for innovation and plant design.

Location: We are based in Winterthur.
