We are seeking a skilled and experienced Key Account Manager with a strong background in pharmaceutical supply chain management. This role focuses on supporting key accounts across East Africa, with an emphasis on supply chain management tasks and ensuring smooth operational workflows. The successful candidate will excel at prioritizing tasks, following up on key activities, and providing seamless account support.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Account Management: Serve as the primary contact for assigned accounts, ensuring their needs are addressed promptly and accurately.

2. Prioritization & Coordination: Assess and prioritize account needs, manage requests, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely execution.

3. Back-Office Support: Handle administrative tasks such as documentation, following up on email feedback, and coordinating documentation signing processes.

4. Supply Chain Expertise: Leverage supply chain knowledge to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment while addressing supply-related challenges.

5. Team Collaboration: Work closely with Business Development Directors and internal teams to align strategies with business objectives and maintain operational excellence.

6. Client Communication: Maintain strong relationships through regular contact with accounts, addressing issues proactively and ensuring client satisfaction.

7. Reporting & Analysis: Generate and present reports on account performance, identifying trends, key metrics, and areas for improvement.

8. Problem-Solving: Resolve account-related challenges using your expertise in pharmaceutical supply chains to implement effective solutions.

9. Market Support: Assist in mapping and identifying stakeholders in key markets such as Kenya and follow up on obtaining price information from manufacturers.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years in key account management, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry, with Strong understanding of pharmaceutical supply chain processes and workflows.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical regulations and supply chain processes in East Africa, particularly Kenya.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with CRM software and other supply chain management tools.
  • Advanced use of MS Excel including expertise in complex formulas, data analysis, PivotTables, automation with VBA, and dynamic dashboards.
  • Ability to analyze data, generate insights, and recommend strategic actions.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Comfortable handling back-office support tasks alongside core responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in pharmaceutical management or supply chain are a plus.

Salary: $30,000-$35,000 per annum


Work schedule: We are a young startup, so we focus on delivering results, not filling hours of work. However, as a reference, candidates can expect to normally work within normal office hours per week (Monday-Friday).
