The Role

As a Junior Renewable Energy Market Data Analyst you will help shape Pexapark’s collection of renewable market data, support the operation of the monthly PPA price poll, and play a vital part in the expansion and positioning of our PPA price polling activities. This will help us achieve our mission to become the leading provider of renewable price benchmarks (PPA prices).

The position offers the opportunity to be on the frontline of evolving renewable energy markets and to make a meaningful contribution to increasing price transparency in the renewables market.

We are looking for someone with a growth mindset who is eager to build the foundation for a strong career in the renewables industry within a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.

How will you help:

  • Operate Pexaparks monthly renewable market data/PPA price poll: Manage interactions with market participants (renewable asset developers, renewable energy buyers, etc.), produce reliable market feedback results on a monthly basis, and contribute to automating work processes to improve efficiency.
  • Analyse renewable market data: Use collected market data to analyze trends and collaborate closely with the Quant team and Price Reporters to write insightful market commentaries, and to create automated graphs and visualizations.
  • Process and visualize renewable market information: Analyze and provide commentary on trends in data such as balancing prices, Guarantees of Origin, and capture rates, ensuring high-quality outputs.
  • Support market research and intelligence products: Contribute to Pexapark’s market research activities by providing well-written insights and analysis.

What you’ll bring:

  • Previous exposure to renewables or power markets, ideally with previous PPA experience, with a good understanding of the functioning of power markets and trading
  • Good numeracy skills, research and analytical capabilities, with the capability of handling and interpreting data, and conducting thorough checks for data accuracy and completeness
  • Programming skills in Python desirable, including experience with libraries for data visualisation such as Matplotlib, Plotly, Seaborn
  • Reliable working style, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to always strive to deliver quality within tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and accurately, additional languages are an advantage
  • Legal eligibility to work in Europe or UK
  • A good sense of humour
