Infrastructure Coordination plays a key role in the strategic planning and operational development of VHIR, ensuring that essential services are efficiently deployed and aligned with the organization's objectives. As the person responsible for this area inclusive of general services unit and laboratory support unit, the primary task is to define and coordinate strategies to ensure the conservation, maintenance, cleaning, security, sterilization, logistics, and reception management of VHIR buildings, working closely with the operational units responsible for their implementation. The coordinator will oversee the area, providing strategic leadership to a dedicated team of approximately 20 employees. The individual will set priorities and general criteria to ensure that infrastructure and associated services meet the standards established by VHIR's management and comply with legal regulations. They also lead strategic planning and support the overarching supervision of cross-departmental projects, such as renovations and the construction of new facilities, ensuring the implementation of efficient and sustainable solutions. The role focuses on optimising the integrated management of services by implementing innovative strategies and collaborating with responsible units. This includes establishing policies for the contracting and supervision of maintenance, cleaning, security, energy, and supply services, promoting continuous improvement and ensuring that facilities are in optimal condition to support research and VHIR operations. Additionally, the coordinator anticipates future needs, aligning resources and infrastructure with the organization's growth and evolving demands.
Education and qualifications:
Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Fluency in Catalan, Spanish, English Additional training in maintenance and building management

Experience and knowledge: Required:

  • At least 10 years of experience working in facilities management or maintenance. Specific training in contract management, AutoCAD, BIM, budgets, energy management. Knowledge of the functioning of a research institute or healthcare institution.


Main responsibilities and duties:

Strategic Planning, institutional alignment and institutional representation:

  • Develop and implement global strategies to optimize lab use, organisation, maintenance and to ensure support for researchers. Ensure facilities are aligned with institutional needs, keeping them continuously updated. Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement, monitoring KPIs and driving corrective actions. Represent VHIR in institutional committees, strengthening collaboration with the hospital.

Facilities and services management:

  • Oversee maintenance, construction, and cleaning projects, ensuring quality standards and sustainability and manage supplier contracts for services like cleaning, consumables, and maintenance. Implement safety measures, access protocols, and waste management aligned with regulations.

Team leadership and development:

  • Lead and develop the team, fostering growth, training, and alignment with strategic goals. Ensure compliance with internal procedures and administrative regulations.

Budget and supplier oversight:

  • Manage budgets efficiently in line with organisational objectives. Define criteria for supplier selection and supervise key service agreements.


Labour conditions:

  • Full-time position: 40h/week. Starting date: immediate Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale Contract
