About you and this role Dow is looking for a campus graduate to join the Research Assignment Program (RAP) which offers exciting opportunities to candidates (f/m) to start their career, by exploring different areas of industrial Research and Development during a 21-month rotational program. One RAP position is currently open in Correggio, within the Technical Service & Development (TS&D) organization within the Dow Polyurethane business. This TS&D position is focusing on the Energy Efficiency segment. As Senior TS&D Specialist, you will collaborate with the DOW marketing and sales teams to focus on expanding the business in Cold Chain and Construction applications in which Polyurethane (PUR) and Polyisocyanurate (PIR) rigid foams are used as core thermal insulation material. You will assess and validate innovations from product development to implementation at customers. In this role, you will provide technical expertise and guidance to the commercialization and selling of PU Energy Efficiency products and services. The position involves extensive interaction with internal and external stakeholders including customers, R&D, marketing, sales, and manufacturing colleagues. The activities include technical support to existing customers, but a significant portion of the job will be dedicated to projects bringing new innovative products and services to our customers. Opportunities exist for role expansion and becoming a subject matter expert based on development of relevant expertise. Responsibilities

  • As a new DOW employee, you will be based/hired in Correggio, Italy. This means you will start in your base location with a 9-month assignment and will then rotate for the remaining 12 months to different Dow R&D businesses and potentially other EU locations to work on 2 other projects of 6 months each.
  • At the end of the program, you will come back to your base location (Correggio) as a Senior Technical Service & Development Specialist.
  • During the RAP program you will be responsible to accomplish the technical requirements of each assignment and document the achievements in our internal database. Collaborate with your RAP leader and local leader in finding your next rotation. Develop relevant network and presentation skills.

Qualifications

  • Recent graduates with Ph.D. in Chemistry, Materials or Polymer Science, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a strongly related field with less than 1 year of experience.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong initiative and open to working in a diverse environment with colleagues from around the world.
  • A hands-on person who will demonstrate the skills and the drive required to develop & implement innovative solutions from lab to customers.
  • Fluency in English is essential. Other languages, such as Italian, German and French are highly desirable.
  • Open for geographical mobility at both national and international scale within the first 21 months of their career at Dow.
  • Have a passion for customer interaction and bringing innovative solutions to them.
