Are you interested in kick-starting your career in the evolving energy industry? Join us as Trainee Audit & Risk Management!

Become part of the Axpo Trainee community. Collaborate with various divisions, gain exciting and in-depth insights into the world of energy and build up a group wide network. Every six months, you will join a different team and take on responsibility for new projects.

The traineeship begins on 1st of April 2025 and is limited to 18 months with the option of a permanent position.


What you will do:

  • Gain insights into the daily operations of our wide-ranging finance department, especially the Internal Audit team, as well as other division such as Energy Trading, Generation and Distribution, Risk Management, …
  • Work on various operational and strategic tasks and take on responsibility from day one
  • The first assignment will be with Internal Audit, where you will:
    • Contribute to the internal audits across Axpo Group, including planning audit engagement, identifying risks and techniques, conducting audit testing, following-up on recommendations, and setting-up data analytics for trends and insights
    • Develop Group Risk assessments and strategic audit plan
    • Design and implement audit tools and methodologies
    • Set-up projects planning systems and design a collaboration model with Compliance and Risk Management
    • Ensure compliance with International Internal Audit Standards
  • The second and third assignment are in the area of your interest, e.g. Trading & Sales department, Legal and Data Protection, Strategy, or even at our subsidiary CKW or an international Axpo Hub.

What you bring & who you are:

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Risk Management or Law (no more than 2 years of post-graduation professional experience).
  • Knowledge of Corporate Governance and regulations as well as Internal Control and Risk Management Systems
  • Ability to understand and interpret financial statements
  • Project management skills are a plus
  • Driven and active in creating professional connections with empathy and assertiveness
  • Fluent in English and German

You will work in the office in Baden, with the flexibility to work from home as well. The fixed traineeship salary is CHF 86’000 per year, including several attractive fringe benefits.
