The Tours Digital Solutions team within EF Tours is the group of engineering and creative professionals empowering EF to send groups of students and educators on guided educational tours across the world. We power every step of our customer’s journey – from showcasing our tour offerings, to creating personalized itineraries, and collecting their feedback after the tour. What you’ll do
This role is part of a major technology modernization program for our educational travel businesses. As a Senior Technical Project Manager, you will support and empower project teams (engineers, product managers, and UX designers), and facilitate cross-functional collaboration with business stakeholders and SMEs. In this role, you will:

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the technical landscape and intricacies of our systems consolidation projects.

• Collaborate with the project team to establish holistic project plans, monitor progress, and hold the team and stakeholders accountable for adhering to the established schedule and processes.

• Work with the engineers, product managers, and UX designers to align work, share ideas, and foster a culture of data-driven decision-making.

• Track and manage dependencies to ensure cohesive, connected user scenarios and identify potential risk areas, escalating issues appropriately. Adjust or course-correct when projects deviate from schedule or goals.

• Partner with the project team to define success metrics for project milestones, articulating how those metrics align with overarching business objectives.

• Engage with internal stakeholders, product managers, software engineers, UX designers, data engineers, and success managers, to guarantee the timely completion of projects and onboarding of users.

• Utilize project management tools and methodologies to track progress and ensure alignment with project goals.

• Build and maintain project tracking documentation, ensuring clarity and accessibility for all stakeholders.

• Actively participate in cross-functional collaboration within the engineering community, collaborating with departmental analysts, data engineering teams, and product teams to share insights and gather feedback.

• Participate in the Program Core Team and partner with the Program Leads to guide program communications. Assist with some PMO responsibilities.

• As the senior project manager, establish project management best practices and tools, and coach and mentor other project managers on the program. Manage one direct report.

Who you are

• 6+ years of experience in Project or Product Management, specializing in technical projects, replatforming, and/or digital transformation efforts.

• 6+ years of experience effectively communicating progress and outcomes to decision-makers, thereby influencing strategic decisions.

• Proven track record in managing programs across cross-functional teams, involving the development of processes and managing of interdependencies between team.

• Proficient in various project management disciplines, encompassing scope, schedule, budget, quality, as well as experience in risk and critical path management.

• Demonstrated expertise in steering large-scale system rollouts and adeptly managing diverse groups of stakeholders.

• Comfortable navigating complex technical landscapes, exemplified by proficiency with systems like Salesforce, Oracle, as well as “home grown” solutions.

• Capable of successfully managing projects within a matrixed organization and collaborating with international teams, overcoming challenges such as scheduling across multiple time zones and establishing thoughtful asynchronous communications.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, facilitating the effective conveyance of complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Possesses exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, as well as an appropriate sense of urgency, enabling the simultaneous management of multiple projects and effective task prioritization.

• Exhibits the ability to influence without authority and drive efforts through relationship management.

• Inspires leadership and fosters trust across teams and organizations.

• Promotes a collaborative environment and maintains a positive attitude in challenging situations.
