The Senior Mechanical Simulation Engineer position is based within the Valeo R&D department and will form an integral part of a cross-functional team developing next generation vision systems for the automotive market. the Mechatronic simulation engineer will be responsible for all mechanical and thermal simulations in the Mechanical development of ECU's, Domain Controllers & Car Computers in the Autonomous Driving field.

Main responsibilities~

• Complete the mechanical and thermal simulations as requested by the various projects using 3D simulation tools (FLOEFD).
• Advise Engineers on alternative or improved thermal designs pre simulation
• Make technical proposals to Engineers for improving the product based on the simulation results post simulation based on the data generated
• Take data from simulation results and present to the project team clearly and concisely
• Set up standards, guidelines and methodologies on our chosen 3D tools
• Liaise with other simulation engineers in our product line in order to keep up to date with current methodologies and practices
• Train other engineers on the use of the various tools when necessary

Education/Training

• Bachelor of Engineering or Science

Mandatory~

• 5+ years experience in thermal simulations
• FLOEFD experience mandatory
• Experience in developing products for high volume manufacturing
• Tooling and moulding experience - ability to identify and suggest part improvements
• The person must be able to demonstrate a high level of commitment, initiative and quality of workmanship
• High level of enthusiasm and motivation, and the ability to take input from others
• Good communicator and fluent in written and spoken English

Desirable~

• Masters or PhD in the field of CFD, thermodynamics or similar
• Experience in developing 2D drawings and 3D designing using 3D CAD
• Experience with mechatronic automotive design
• Tolerance investigations and stack up analysis experience
• Knowledge of GD&T
• Knowledge of Ansys and Mechanical simulations are a plus
