King’s College, Soto de Vinuelas world-renowned for academic excellence and student leadership, is seeking to appoint a dynamic, inspiring and ambitious professional to the position of Secondary Teacher of Science for a maternity leave to join our teaching team on a temporary basis in January/February 2025. We are looking for enthusiastic and committed teachers who would like to join our school located in the beautiful city of Madrid. We are seeking to appoint a flexible and creative practitioner with excellent subject knowledge and effective interpersonal skills, committed to building strong working relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To act as a role model for teaching and learning,

• To continue to develop own expertise in their subject and the art of teaching
• Provide a sustained and consistent collaborative contribution to the wider work of the school, either internally or outside the school
• Proactively seek, create and lead on opportunities that have a demonstrably positive impact on creating an outstanding learning environment

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Experience of teaching KS3 science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology)
• Experience of teaching on or more of the sciences at IGCSE/GCSE level
• Independent sector or international experience is highly desirable
• Excellent working knowledge of the English National Curriculum, the IB Diploma and recent developments
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Pastoral responsibility or experience would be an advantage
• Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school
• Knowledge of Spanish, or willingness to learn Spanish would be an advantage
