As part of the Accelleron IT/IS Infrastructure team you will become the responsible for ensuring that the IT Workplace services run smoothly at a global level, continuously evolving over time. As a trusted advisor and hands-on specialist reporting to the IT/IS Customer Experience Service Owner, you will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all workplace-related topics, including end-user devices (computers, mobile phones), their configurations, maintenance, patching and troubleshooting activities. As the Workplace SME you will be the prime mover in tests and analysis of laptops, workstations and related main components, including accessories setup, guiding with practical advice for improvement and new implementations. Capabilities to perform, in coordination with global organization, proof of concept (POC) and tests of new technologies, are key for success in this position. Some of the topics related to workplace activities are (not restricted to): operational system design, migration and updates; analysis, packaging, deployment and patching of software applications; update of BIOS, firmware, and drivers; requests and incidents handling, including troubleshooting. Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical knowledge, support and/or execute workplace-related activities
  • Guide and monitor task completion, share expert knowledge and advise external team
  • Control and ensure that workplace solutions/services are delivered according to agreed-upon Service Level Agreements (SLAs): on time, within budget and at high quality
  • Ensure that architectural, process and operational guidelines are followed in projects and initiatives
  • Act as owner of general workplace applications, ensuring timely patching with the support of existing operations partner
  • Review existing High-Level-Design (HLD) and Low-Level-Design (LLD) documents for Windows Operating Systems and for Mobile Device Management (MDM) and design new ones aiming to establish state-of-the-art workplace services for Accelleron users
  • Connect with internal stakeholders and hardware vendors, assessing existing technologies and product offers to provide technical guidance on the best solutions for Accelleron requirements

Background:

  • Must haves:
    • Ability to design, create and deliver solution frameworks around the workplace domain
    • Ability to accurately define an issue and interpret it, designing a resolution based on deep technical knowledge
    • Knowledge in designing and deploying Windows desktop operating system, including customization, application packaging, troubleshooting, Bitlocker management and migration concepts (Windows 10 and Windows 11)
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) to develop custom operating images, patching solutions, troubleshooting and maintenance plans
    • Knowledge with of MECM - Microsoft End-point Configuration System (formerly, SCCM-Microsoft Center Configuration Manager)
    • Knowledge of Intune, Microsoft Entra and related Active Directory end-user / workplace configurations
    • Understanding of MDM (Mobile Device Management)
    • Knowledge about GPO (Group Policy Object)
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple demands on time, in cross-functional, virtual, and international teams.
    • A collaborative, solutions- and customer-service-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
    • Fluency in spoken and written English. German is a big plus.
  • Should haves:
    • Experience with VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure)
    • Knowledge about security, compliance, application and enrollment policies
    • Hands on experience with Azure Active Directory (AAD) and Windows AD (Active Directory)
    • Knowledge of IT service management (ITIL certification is a plus)
