IT Head Laboratory Management Systems is in charge of the Center of Excellence for the Laboratory Management Systems LIMS&LES. The role is end to end accountable for the strategy, roadmap, lifecycle and project portfolio delivery of Laboratory Information Management systems and Laboratory Execution systems.

Who are you:

You are a senior leader, with an extensive background in IT and Laboratory technologies, coupled with significant functional and process experience in the domains of Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Laboratory Management in a pharmaceutical sector. You are passionate about technologies, as well as business process design, you wish to drive the innovation and improvement agenda and make an impact in a dynamic company.

Major accountabilities:

  • Acts as single point of contact for Laboratory Management capabilities and systems

  • Builds strong credibility and handles relationships with senior collaborators. Act as business partner towards the global and local business organizations (Laboratories in R&D and Quality Control)

  • Financial and Budget:

  • Responsible for the financials of the department including portfolio of programs and projects in scope and third party contracts

  • Portfolio and Demand Management:

  • Support the collection of the IT demand and prioritization of IT projects and change requests.

  • Own the portfolio in scope. Drive the implementation of solutions related to Quality systems and act as a point of contact for blocking issues.

  • Lead the Global LIMS implementation program, a multiyear transformation to redefine the Laboratory processes and implement a new LIMS and LES global systems (based on Labvantage technology)

  • Technology strategy and lifecycle management:

  • Accountable for the technology roadmap, lifecycle management and continuous improvement of LIMS and LES systems (Labvantage, Labware and Thermofisher technologies).

  • Team Management:

  • Build an high performing team

  • Coordinate, support and mentor a team of 3-5 internal SMEs and external contractors that provide functional and technical expertise to projects and changes.

  • Ensure consistency to GMP regulations, IT security policies and architecture standards of new and enhanced solutions.

Key requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering or Technology management, or equivalent experience

  • Extensive background in IT and OT technologies (e.g. Laboratory Execution systems, Laboratory Information systems)

  • Significant functional and end to end process knowledge in the domains of Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Laboratory Management, Regulatory, EHS and GxP Learning

  • Experience in IT and/or OT teams

  • Experience in business teams in roles like product owner, business solution manager, process owner, others is a plus

  • Experience with Heath&Life Science/Pharmaceutical/Consumer sector

  • Solid understanding and experience with smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0

  • Must be business fluent in English

  • Proven financial knowledge and experience in building compelling arguments and preparing for capital investments.

  • Extensive experience in working in supervised/GxP environments

  • External Perspectives / Discernment, understanding of pharmaceutical and consumer industry sector
