Finance Controller - Africa & Central Asia


We are searching for an experienced Finance Controller - Africa & Central Asia at our MSC Geneva facility.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

We are looking for a talented controller to join the Group Controlling department, which supports the organization of MSC Cargo on a specific scope of countries in Africa & Central Asia.

The objective of the position is to develop partnership for business and finance activities. In addition to the standard financial controlling activities, the position is, through deep dive analysis and strong department collaboration, to influence the strategy and the decision maker.

As part of a team of 3, the current position will get interaction with a pool of people in an international environment. Also, you will be part of a finance transformation process, bringing management information to the next level in Finance.
The responsibilities of the department are to control and oversee the financial information and operational costs generated through our agencies worldwide. The objective is to provide financial insight and transparency that supports the decision-making in both operational and commercial organizations.

YOUR IMPACT

As Finance Controller Africa & Central Asia you will:

  • Improve working capital management
  • Analyze and identify revenue and cost optimization opportunities
  • Perform cost control activities
  • Assist the Regional CFO with daily management of assigned countries and organize the Regional CFO's country visits.
  • Review Forex exposure
  • Review Financial reporting (weekly/monthly)
  • Take lead Adhoc global analysis in collaboration with other regional teams


Required Qualifications:

  • Master Degree in Finance or Economics
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in positions within finance, audits, controlling, financial planning and analysis or equivalent
  • Shipping or logistics experience
  • Advanced Excel skills and able to execute analysis in financial and analytical tool
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Analytic & critical mind-set
  • Capacity to learn quickly
  • Result oriented
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Self-starter, proactive attitude and able to see opportunities
  • Team player with strong communication skills
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken and good knowledge of French
