We are seeking a Development System Engineer to join our company in Valladolid. He/She will be responsible for the technical development of EE components, including component sizing, feature and functional characteristics analysis, and functional safety analysis. Additionally, the role involves defining durability and validation plans (both internal and external).

He/She will also be in charge of parts technical and functional specifications, engaging in discussions with suppliers, and following up after nomination to ensure consistency in technical activities.


What you will do

  • Write cell specifications and prepare supplier consultations, participating in their nomination.
  • Propose technical solutions for arbitration and define/carry out validations (internally or externally).
  • Lead technical discussions with suppliers on product and process aspects.
  • Summarize development progress at each project milestone according to the Renault development process.
  • Ensure alignment with the USFT technical roadmap and define technical policies/standards for traction battery cells.
  • Lead technical improvements on specifications and standards based on benchmarks, project experiences, and new regulations.

Highly recommended skills:

  • System knowhow, system requirements, validations.
  • Basic knowledge of big data and AI.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or in Chemistry / Ph.D. in Advanced Chemistry ( If possible on batteries technologies or materials)
  • Batteries/electric energy storage systems on products or processes, or advance materials research on batteries , supercondensators, or similar devices.
  • Excellent skills in chemistry, electrochemistry, materials science, Li-ion battery, energy storage, cell manufacturing processes and validations
  • Programming know-how (matlab, python), Comsol modeling, GT Autolion
  • Bonus skills: mechanical dimensioning, machine learning, programming, data analysis,
  • Rigorous, organized, dynamic, proactive, willing to take responsabilities, synthesis capacity, critical spirit, you appreciate teamwork.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Business English, any other language is nice to have (Eg. Chinese)
  • Availability to relocate to Valladolid.
