Purpose of the job

Are you the Cost control Team Lead that is part of the Non-Captive organization of SDSNL and will be responsible for Accounting and controlling activities and will act as a financial advisor towards the operations? Please take a look at this job!

You will be the managing the financial activities related to our operations in Born/Tilburg/Maasvlakte and will lead a team of 10 professionals.

Your team will focus on the both finance activities of the operations, meaning the processing on in- and outgoing invoices related to the operations, but also on the controlling activities such as reporting, data analysis and advising the site manager on cost efficiency, investments (and ROI) and profitability.

In this role you will report into the Non-captive director and you will have a dotted line towards the RHQ Finance Team located in Delft.

Key activities:

  • Coordination of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable process– support the invoice process, manage and solve any issues and manage and align the timely payment process, support an active due-date management and safeguard the financial position of operations
  • Budget & Forecasting – monthly budget and forecasting reports, analyzing requests, monitoring of progress and safeguard SDS guidelines
  • Month-end closing – share month-end closing process and monitor the progress. Coordination and support can be obtained from Regional Head Quarters (RHQ) related to month-end closing issues and deliverables.
  • Management Reporting – provide insights in turnover, expenses, profitability of the operations
  • Ad-hoc reporting towards Management and/or (R)HQ – all ad-hoc (financial) requests coming from either Management or SDS (R)HQ
  • Risk Management – coordination of the process of monthly risk management reporting and analyzing the operational/financial risk reporting and suggest improvement plans

Profile

We are looking for a candidate with strong social skills in communications towards the team and internal and external customers. Our ideal candidate is a decisive and flexible problem-solver with a strong hands-on mentality that is used to work in teams. Our ideal candidate has:

  • A Bachelor/Master degree in Economics/Business administration /Finance/Accounting/Tax
  • At least 5 years’ working experience in Finance and/or Controlling positions
  • Fluent in English
  • In possession of Excel advanced skill set
  • Experience in an international (Logistics) company would be a major advantage
