As the Supplier Quality Engineer Contracted Services, based in Madrid (ES), you will be coaching, and managing Contracted Services Suppliers according to Hitachi Energy supplier quality standards and policies. You will qualify suppliers for business with Hitachi Energy, provide advice and training on quality protocols and conduct audits to ensure compliance with Hitachi Energy requirements and applicable government standards. You will be managing supplier problems related to quality, performance, and service level.
How you will make an impact
Supplier Qualification: Support Category teams and local SCM teams within the supplier qualification process through evaluating the supplier, issuing and reviewing qualification assessment forms, performing onsite visits and audits, and recommending the appropriate qualification level.
Ensure the supply base is and remains fully qualified and compliant through regular monitoring
Supplier Audit: Plans and conducts, remote and/or onsite, supplier audits, including reporting and findings management, and verifies effective closure of audit findings by the supplier.
Supplier Nonconformances: Coordinate, monitor and report high-impact supplier nonconformances and drive resolution that contains the problem, identifies the root cause, and ensures that appropriate supplier process controls are implemented to prevent recurrence.
This role requires the ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, customers, and internal groups (this may be necessary to negotiate changes and influence decisions).

Your background
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering-oriented discipline. B.Sc. or M.Sc. in construction/civil engineering a plus.
Experience (minimum 3 years) in Civil Works and/or Installation. Experience in site supervision or site audit a plus.
Experience working in supplier quality.
Recent professional experience focusing on supplier development is a plus.
Experience working with Process Improvement and/or Continuous Improvement practices (e.g., Kaizen, DMAIC, RCA).
Experienced in managing 8D Methodologies.
Well-developed auditing skills and experience. Lead Auditor certification is a plus.
Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) in English.
Expected 25% minimum travelling required.
