LIGENTEC is a young and dynamic company located in Lausanne, Switzerland, near EPFL, close to the shore of Lake Geneva. We are manufacturing Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) for customers in high-tech areas such as Quantum Technologies, LiDAR, Space Technologies and Biosensors. LIGENTEC All-Nitride technology enables our customers to develop their products in the industrial revolution 4.0.
To support our continued growth, we are looking for a:
Senior PIC Engineer
Integrated Photonics (ID 2330-DE)
Tasks
- Lead and coordinate advanced photonic integrated circuit development projects
- Lead and coordinate advanced photonic integrated circuit development projects for customer and internal projects.
- Support application engineering and sales with technical assessments and simulations.
- Interface with the fabrication, process engineering and test teams.
- Documentation and reporting.
- Contribute to patent applications and proposal writing.
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in photonics or related fields.
- Minimum of 7+ years of hands-on experience in integrated optics design and simulation.
- Solid understanding and practical experience with different material platforms (SiPh, InP, SiN, SiO2) is a strong plus.
- Practical experience with heterogeneous integration and optical I/O is a plus.
- Advanced experience in Lumerical or similar simulation software.
- Experience in compact modelling is a plus.
- Free space optics experience is a plus.
- Open-minded, communicative, critical thinker.
- Solution and goal-oriented.
- Ability to work in a team and independently.
- Working proficiency in English.
