About the role

Our market in Coronary Therapies, Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) and Interventional Cardiology is evolving fast, and it requires us to adapt to new customer needs treating patients with more Complex Coronary Disease. We are creating a new Pr. Product Manager role to lead further support our Modern PCI portfolio across EMEA. The role sits within the EMEA Coronary Therapy team part of the New Cardio Division.

The role is looking at the achievement of market and business growth through focused market/competitive analysis and the provision of a long-term strategic marketing plan in coordination with the country Management and US Global division / franchise counterparts. This position is responsible for the elaboration, and the execution of the franchise plan and budget as well as the implementation of Marketing excellence standards within his/her group. This role includes involvement in building and refining the franchise strategy while helping to expand utilization of our innovative technologies.

The role will support the efforts to drive category leadership and differentiation for BSC. In this role we expect the new EMEA Principal Product Manager to:

  • Define, drive and track product portfolio strategy.
  • Lead the product planning & product marketing.
  • Initiate and implement our strategy to achieve business growth.
  • Drive collaboration and benchmarking with our global team.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and KOLs.


In this role, you will be responsible for:

Marketing Strategy Formulation:

  • Lead the product planning & product marketing.
  • Prioritize new business opportunities that impact franchise plans, profit and margin objectives.
  • Set directions for Budget planning.
  • Establish strong relationship with divisional counterparts to contribute to market and new product portfolio definition
  • Develop & or support advisory boards to provide key customer insights including NG launches, strategy, market trends, opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Lead execution of market analysis activities (Market research, identification of new opportunities, therapies, technology advancement competitors etc.) to generate insights and support development of marketing strategies and feed back into the EMEA and Global franchise Marketing.
  • Ensure data-driven recommendations for future pipeline investments, new product development programs, launch strategies, based on sound customer, market and competitive insights as well as financial assessment.
  • Lead reimbursement and therapy adoption strategies.
  • Assess market and competitive intelligence, for review with the organization on a regular basis and use in evaluating future development direction.
  • Set direction for communication, education and event strategies.

Marketing Strategy Implementation:

  • Develop EMEA franchise strategic plans to achieve divisional objectives.
  • Review and agree country plans with country Management.
  • Coordinate operational strategies and programs with involvement from sales management.
  • Create and implement objection handling, including strategies for blunting competitive messaging efforts and execution through marketing and sales channels.
  • Work across regions and functions to drive alignment around global positioning and refine product messaging.
  • Interact with key opinion leaders, with heavy focus on KOL management within key strategic accounts and targeted geographic regions.
  • Utilize KOL relationships to inform strategic direction of market and product development.

Planning and management:

  • Continuously reviews all aspects of group’s performance and provides analysis and recommendations to ensure plans and objectives are maximized.
  • Develop and manage annual franchise expense budget.
  • Interpret and utilize franchise P&L to drive business decisions.
  • Develop annual franchise revenue plan and collaborate on franchise/divisional operating plan.
  • Lead and monitor the execution of product centric plans (like new product launches etc.). oversee coordination with operations team to manage the supply chain for products, review monthly forecasts, backorders & plan inventory transitions for new products, track portfolio performance and ensure accurate and timely reporting across the region for own franchise.
  • Accelerate Therapy/Solution marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Develop & collaborate on omnichannel programs & digital opportunities.

Product Context:

  • Ensure product development initiatives are consistent with EMEA market needs.
  • Direct and approve all necessary actions to drive market / product needs assessments.
  • Manage product prioritization within franchises and provide input towards global divisional development prioritization.

Stakeholder management and collaboration:

  • Demonstrate strong collaboration and interaction with key clinical and economic customers and thought leaders to ensure the right inputs into our portfolio, evidence, market development and commercial plans.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key EMEA opinion leaders in field.
  • Develop ongoing communication and relationships with key internal functional areas, CT product, managers, Business Development Managers (CxPCI & CE), Country Management, HEMA, Medical Affairs, Global Marketing, Marcom, Multi-channel, commercial excellence and more.
  • Collaboratively works with R&D / Upstream Marketing on development and execution of product development programs.
  • Prioritize and coordinate the franchise’s / division's executional involvement with cross-functional groups (sales management, sales reps, marketing communications, national accounts/corporate programs).
  • Explore possible commercial collaborations with third parties in EMEA that would benefit the team and expand the market.

Quality:

  • Ensure awareness and compliance with applicable standard operating procedures to meet, comply and champion all quality and regulatory commitments of Boston Scientific.


What we are currently looking for in you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or equivalent required.
  • A 7-10+ years of product management experience considered an asset, preferably gained in the Medical Device industry.
  • Fluency in English required and an additional European language preferred.
  • Demonstrates strengths in strategic thinking & business acumen.
  • At ease in a clinical selling environment.
  • Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
  • Team player with ability to gain support of colleagues.
  • Proven ability to work in a matrixed organization and confidence to lead and influence across multiple organizations/stakeholders.
  • Ability to work autonomously and with great initiative & attitude.
  • Willing to travel extensively (around 50% travel required).
