Contract: full-time, initially fixed-term for 2 years followed by the option of a subsequent employment contract with an infinite duration
Our primary school offers a high-quality education programme for over 340 children aged 6 to 11. It supports each student’s personal, social, academic, physical and emotional development in an internationally oriented context. In our primary school an international curriculum is used to ensure that we provide a clear and consistent curriculum that appropriately challenges the students.
We are looking for an outstanding educator to join our primary leadership team as Assistant Principal.
The Assistant Principal is a leader and mentor in the continuous development of best practices in instruction, curriculum, student engagement and well-being. They act as an instructional leader and mentor for the primary teaching team.
Your tasks and responsibilities
- act as member of the primary leadership team
- lead and support the implementation of the school's strategic plan in primary
- lead the curriculum development, accreditation and change processes
- participate in recruiting process
- use data to improve instructional practice and maximize student learning
- implement innovative learning opportunities, incl. technology integration and inclusive learning, collaboratively
- apply student well-being and behavior guidelines in collaboration
- be responsible for administering the teacher substitute protocol with support
- develop yearly schedules for learners and teachers
- as part of our professional growth process, observe and supervise teachers to enhance, enrich, and support student learning
- collaborate with parent representatives and families to ensure transparency and exchange about school initiatives
- promote professional growth
Your profile
- M.Ed. degree or at least 3 year of successful leadership experience
- passionate about learning beyond traditional concepts
- exceptional interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
- strong organizational skills
- be resilient
- proven experience as teacher and or leader in an international school environment
- act as role model for lifelong learning
- show high competency in written and spoken English
- show effective verbal and written communication skills as well as the use of IT and new technologies
- show evidence of continuous professional development
