Description
Reporting to the Corporate Chief Engineer, you will contribute to the success of our hotels and Engineering Departments by improving and expanding our utilities reporting and optimizing tool, ensuring data accuracy, supporting the Directors of Engineering on Brand Standards and Business Plan implementation and follow-up, on maintenance budget reviews and follow-up. You will also be responsible for maintaining our Corporate Office building and ensuring all related maintenance agreements with third-party vendors are regularly implemented.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct reporting to Corporate Chief Engineer
- Ensure efficient administration of the Corporate Office engineering department
- Develop collaborative cross departmental partnerships with corporate and regional teams (such as hotel operations, finance and IT) in order to achieve personal departmental and organizational goals.
- Assisting in the Tracking monitoring and analyzing data from Kempinski portfolio in relation to utilities consumption, carbon footprint, maintenance, and life cycle CAPEX and the Kempinski engineering brand standards
- Assisting in preparation of regular portfolio reports in relation to the above for Management Board
- Assisting in preparation of regular individual property reports in relation to the above for on property chief engineer and executive teams
- Research and solicit information pertaining to new technologies in relation to hotel building engineering systems, maintenance and sustainability
- Corporate Office building: maintenance follow-up (day to day corrective and preventive maintenance, maintenance agreements follow-up with 3rd party vendors, renovation or upgrade works (contractors selection, works supervision and commissioning)
- Support of Hotel Directors of Engineering: engineering brand standards and business plan implementation and follow-up, supportive on Franek and Samfex systems
- Support Engineering and Maintenance Budget reviews and follow up
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Eligibility: eligible for a working permit in Switzerland
- Education: Ideally with a vocational or college qualification in building systems engineering, data analysis or building/construction sustainability
- Experience: minimum 3 years relevant experience or combination of experience and education in a related field
- Language: English and French with excellent oral and written skills in English required. German would be a strong plus.
- Competencies:
- Strong analytical skills - identifying trends, interdependencies, problems and causes and recommend corrective actions
- Polished verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts clearly and concisely
- Experienced in preparing succinct easy to understand reports and presentations
- Ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organisation in a multinational environment
- Good organisation and work planning skills.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines with a ‘hands on’ approach
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team and to make decisions.
- Ability to prioritise workload based on importance displaying a sense of urgency and professionalism
- Experience in data compilation, maintenance, analysis and presentation,
- Adaptable and comfortable working in an ever-changing environment – will look for effective and innovative approaches, and open minded to modern techniques related to building technologies
- Experience working in building asset management an advantage
- Strong computer literacy adapted to the field of engineering
- Familiar with building engineering and maintenance administration systems (such as Farnek, Samfex or equivalent)
- MS Office, google docs
- Individual characteristics: must identify with Kempinski core values - people oriented - straightforward - good interpersonal skills and ability to listen
