We are looking for a Continuous Improvement Manager in our factory in Alicante.

Job Purpose

  • Deploy the operational excellence program plant wide and ensure that H&S is embedded in all the initiatives
  • Deploy the suite of OpEx tools at plant level.
  • Develop manufacturing & supply chain excellence initiatives for the site, driving the pipeline of initiatives, coordinating plant team to achieve optimum results with regards to staff, systems, equipment, machines & site operations.
  • Lead, coach and develop the plant CI teams to meet the plant excellence goals & strategy.

Required Experience and Knowledge

  • 3+ years of experience in operations including of successful process improvement success.
  • Solid project management experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong coaching and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • A solid understanding and experience on Engineering, Project Management, Lean Principles, Six Sigma, Financial acumen.
  • Must be able to manage cross functionally with direct and indirect influence.
  • Must be able to Coach and facilitate individually and at the team level.

Functional competencies

  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency and strong personal ownership to operational performance and excellence.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Effective at engaging and leading stakeholders across levels and businesses in order to realize operational excellence goals and objectives.
  • Willing to travel within the Division.
  • Written and spoken English at least level B2.

Key responsibilities

  • Include the HSE priorities in every projects, programmes and actions
  • Responsible for Supporting, executing and monitoring manufacturing excellence goals and execution plant wide to achieve performance, financial and staff development objectives.
  • Facilitates, assists, and develops shop floor excellence operations and removes barriers for employees to meet measurable objectives.
  • Deploy and participates in Gemba walks and coaching employees on 5S / standard work / visual management development/modification/adherence, managing for daily Improvement (M.D.I.), continuous improvement, flow, problem solving and other lean methods, techniques and processes.
  • Participates in the training and development of plant employees in excellence program.
  • Support planning, execution and sustainment of Kaizen and Lean manufacturing events within value stream team(s).
  • Track and report program progress and communicate with plant leadership and EMEA Operational Excellence organization.
  • Brings the CI methodology to shopfloor level as well as management level.
  • Contribute to the effective people management and talent management (Talent Acquisition, Succession Planning, Performance Management, Development, Performance Calibration etc) for direct and indirect employees in collaboration with relevant functional stakeholders.
  • Manages projects within the productivity and saving initiatives managements system to contribute to the increase of plant’s performances.
  • Defines together with plant leadership and HR the required competences to execute the needed initiatives to increase the performances of the plant and defines the path to develop them.
  • Defines together with the relevant plant’s stakeholders and the Operational excellence divisional leadership the needs of support by EMEA Operational Excellence organization.
  • Drives the management of the divisional Operational Excellence program in coordination with the plant management and the divisional Operational Excellence organization.
  • Guarantees that the defined divisional and global standards on Operational Excellence and CI are well understood and proficiently used in the related areas of the plant.
  • Promotes the use in the plant of the best practices defined at divisional and global levels.
