About the team you are joining
You will be a member of Architecture, Salesforce and Solution Design team within Information & Data (I&D) division. As an experienced .NET Solution Architect, you will lead the Solution Architecture for IATA’s Financial IT solutions, with a strong focus on .NET technologies. Your expertise in financial systems will be crucial as you design and maintain the architecture for some of IATA’s most critical applications. Including the evolution of existing systems, using cloud-based technologies based on AWS. You will be the subject matter expert and authority on the design of IATA’s financial solutions, ensuring the quality of delivery for assigned projects, enhancements, and support. You will define and recommend coding best practices and integration options, with proven experience of middleware products relevant to the industry.
What your day would be like
The Solution Architect will play a critical role in shaping the technical direction of our financial services projects. You will work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and external partners to design and implement scalable, secure, and compliant solutions. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that our systems align with industry regulations and best practices.
Solution Architecture:
Lead the design and architecture of complex financial systems, ensuring they meet business requirements and industry standards.
Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Develop integration strategies for connecting various systems and platforms, focusing on data flow and interoperability.
Assess and mitigate risks associated with technology choices, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and data protection laws.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of architectural designs, system specifications, and implementation processes.
Evaluate and manage technology vendors, ensuring successful integration of third-party solutions into the architecture.
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in financial services to drive innovation within the organization.
Design key technical components of IATA’s financial IT solutions and oversee the end-to-end technical implementation, from .NET development right through to operations.
Lead design sessions with business and IT teams to evaluate all possible design alternatives that will address business requirements.
Ensure the technical design is in line with the overall Enterprise Architecture and can scale and evolve in-line with the latest innovations from the financial sector.
Define technical best practices reference architecture for financial systems implementation; Provide the Architecture design documents using the C4model.
Conduct code reviews to identify and address any application/code security issues during the software development lifecycle.
Proactively evaluate potential application performance bottlenecks and recommend remedial measures.
General Architecture:
Develop, communicate, maintain, and enforce the overall architecture (applications, data, integration) of the systems to which you are assigned.
Contribute to the Enterprise Architecture group with accountability for Solution Architecture and governance across the business and its IT suppliers ensuring the end-to-end integrity of the solution.
Promote co-operation and work in coordination with the technical streams within projects, working with other domain architects, SMEs, business analysts, developers, security and engineers to achieve the successful delivery of a secure and integrated solution.
Produce the appropriate level of formal architecture as defined in the project delivery lifecycle, documented using the C4model and reviewed in the Architecture Review Board.
Work closely with project and development teams to assist the planning and review of project schedules, project reviews, project sizing, estimations, and gap analysis.
Define re-usable modular components, with specifications that are published, updated, and controlled.
Control the development of interfaces between components so they meet interface specifications.
Work with business analysts to ensure what is proposed is both fit for purpose and meets the core business needs.
Support the project management and enterprise architecture in understanding risks, issues, dependencies and revisions relating to the solution architecture.
Leverage the use of open standards and common technology platforms where available.
Monitor and assess industry developments and trends for applicability to the systems architecture as input to new project definitions and the systems roadmap.
We would love to hear from you if
- 5+ years of experience in solution architecture, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of financial systems, including banking, payments, billing and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in architectural frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) advantageous.
- Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure) and microservices architecture.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
