Role: Senior Project Manager-Banking Domain
Location: Zurich

Skills Required:

  • Hands-on knowledge of the Banking IT domain
  • Experience in implementation of high performant IT platforms. Should demonstrate working knowledge of Wealth management portfolio
  • Experience audit work across different Chief Auditor Areas in Bank
  • Capable of defining and overseeing an operating model for complex IT initiatives – eg Digital transformation
  • Should have experience of organizing, planning, and monitoring activities spanning end to end project delivery.
  • Good people and resource management capabilities, including ability to work with multiple- distributed teams across different time zones and cultural diversities.
  • Good stakeholder management skills to manage complex banking projects and proactively track them to closure.
  • Clearly identify gaps in project delivery – time, cost, resource, deliverables, and escalate as appropriate
  • Co-ordinate and track all vendor RFPs. Prepare Statement of work document and maintain consistent documentation.
  • Monitor progress of the banking project against the project time schedule and budget.
  • Identifying and mitigating keys risks in the project through effective risk management strategy
  • Identifies new business opportunities while partnering with the client.
  • Appreciation of the client context, Banking trends and technology trends to be able to identify and propose new opportunities.
  • Evaluating client satisfaction levels and running improvement programs to improve satisfaction levels
  • Well versed with Agile execution models like SAFE, Spotify and also software best practices and frameworks like DevSecOps and SRE.
  • Preferred to have PRINCE2 practitioner certificate, IS-9000 certificate .


Main Responsibilities:

  • Will need to manage deliveries from multiple vendors/teams, stitch them all together and ensure overall project delivered in time, within budget with high quality.
  • Act as a control tower for multiple ongoing projects and their interdependencies, linking together different systems and software applications physically or functionally ensuring that they all function together
  • Responsible / Accountable for activities involved in life cycle of project delivery – Consultancy / Capture Requirements, Planning & Design, Implementation & Delivery Management, Testing, Go Live, Warranty.
  • Be accountable for technical deliverables like: Functional Designs, Interface Specifications, connectivity matrix and establishing connectivity.
  • Act as the central point for information flow linked to all stakeholders directly or indirectly
  • Attend regular project/program meetings with business stakeholders and represent IT. Must be comfortable interacting with CXOs.
  • Financials and timeline tracking following the Delivery estimate (Cost Tracking to ensure project is within budget)
  • Conduct team meetings with different stakeholders through execution phase to monitor and track the project progress
  • Operational handover of projects/programs and thereafter ensuring high availability in production environments
  • Participate and influence strategic IT transformation planning, yearly budgeting and roadmap discussions.
  • Liaise with business stakeholders and influence execution of projects/programs and also proactively define and implement new initiatives.
  • Responsible for contract and SLA negotiations for complex IT programs involving multiple stakeholders
  • Actively initiate and participate in proactive proposals.
  • Ability to create business cases for IT initiatives.
