Jobdetails

We are seeking a best-in-class commercial professional who will build and lead an outbound sales team at ecoinvent.

The ideal candidate has a track record of successful outbound sales management, ideally in a SaaS company. You are results-driven and ambitious, and you want to foster the same attitude in your team. You know how to scale, build talent, and create a sales-driven work environment. You will work with collaborators of mixed backgrounds, so good interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and a can-do attitude are essential. You are driven to pursue growth and achieve ambitious sales targets, while also being motivated by our mission to support high-quality, science-based environmental assessments. This role reports directly to the Chief Revenue Officer.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Sell ecoinvent products to new customers that you will proactively acquire.
  • Find your way to the right people at leading companies, educate them about effective climate programs, and help them to succeed. You’ll own the full lifecycle, from the first outbound to the contract signature.
  • Build an outbound sales playbook: Investigate which accounts and industries we approach first based on our product readiness and regulatory requirements; plan for how we address the right personas; describe our value proposition for these customers.
  • Define and build an outbound marketing plan together with your marketing counterpart.
  • Shape our product strategy by sharing feedback from customers.
  • Drive pipeline building and sales execution across the customer journey, with a strong focus on funnel metrics.
  • Be accountable for quotas and build on our ambitions in the market.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Product, Management, Enablement, and Customer Success.
  • Build a network you can rely on and that will help us to foster an ongoing engagement with our, and the customers’, C-level.

Your Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of relevant sales quota-carrying experience in a SaaS organization.
  • Proven success in growing and working with strategic customers at an executive level.
  • Added bonus—have been the founding sales lead for a globally operating SaaS company; delivered growth from $0-$5m ARR and beyond.
  • Have experience prospecting new business in a completely new territory and/or industry.
  • Are excited to lead from zero to hero and are a self-starter.
  • You can build things from scratch—new sales materials and playbooks to entice new customers to buy into ecoinvent and the impact we make.
  • Are an exceptional communicator and consultative seller. You listen deeply to customers and excel by helping them solve their problems.
  • Love going deep on new domains. You have sold products in complex or technical fields and strive to become an expert on your subject matter. You’re curious. You’re excited to learn everything about LCA, sustainability analytics, and decarbonization and to help companies navigate this space.
  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken communication) is essential.
