Background
The Haleon Nyon (formerly GSK) site is responsible for the production of several key healthcare products, including Voltaren, Fenistil, Otrivin, and many others. Our production lines are divided into three zones based on their proximity to the product’s active chemicals: primary, secondary, and tertiary zones. As a general rule, production flows from primary to tertiary zones. The filling and packing line speeds range from 70 units per minute (u/min) to 300 u/min.
Project Aim
The project focuses on improving the Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) of our production lines, with specific goals including:
- Reducing ejections generated by the vision system (focus on primary zone ejections)
- Simplifying process documentation
- Eliminating micro stops
- Reducing the impact of format or process order changes
- Simplifying cleaning processes
- Streamlining microbiology procedures
- Other potential improvements
Project’s Course of Action
The project will follow a structured approach with the following main steps:
Establish Basic Knowledge: Gain an understanding of the system, processes, and their functionality. Define the Problem: Identify and define the underlying problem(s) to be addressed.
