General Description:
We are looking for an experienced Director Finance Sub-Region Europe to join our European finance team and establish the Finance function across a region including Netherlands, Poland, Switzerland and the Nordic countries. This is a key position for an experienced, ambitious finance professional who is motivated to contribute to leading and developing a multi-country finance function as BeiGene continues its strong growth in Europe and around the world. The candidate must have the ability and the willingness to deal with both strategic issues and a hands-on approach to successfully continue the building out of the finance function. This role requires both strategic thinking, as well as an ability to manage complex details and synthesize into big picture and drive actions across a variety of areas. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, highly organized results driven individual with strong communication skills, judgment and problem-solving skills with the capacity to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Essential Functions of the job:
Lead and build out the Finance-FPA-Administrative infrastructure in the Sub-Region to support the various commercial, RD and administrative functions.- Key finance business partner for the Region’s General Manager and Functional Leads.
- Lead the strategic planning processes in alignment with European FPA, including Forecast and Budget. Provide a financial calendar to ensure the Sub-Region meets all European/global planning and reporting deadlines and ensure all country functions can plan well in advance to meet those requirements.
- Work with the region’s Commercial Operations leadership to develop and manage P&Ls . Oversee analysis of financial and operational results versus plan as well as investigations of significant P&L variances.
- Preparation of region/country analysis and presentations for European and corporate management.
- Provide guidelines including key assumptions, targets and review analysis to ensure the final plan has full by-in from European leadership.
- Recommend solutions for business/process/technical/analytical issues that arise in everyday work challenges to improve accuracy/efficiency.
- Lay the groundwork to identify and grow the organizational and individual development among the team including hiring talents, on boarding, driving performance, coaching and feedback.
- Assist the European accounting team with the establishment of US GAAP and statutory accounts and locally required reporting for all the countries in the region.
- Jointly with the European accounting team, they manage the third-party payroll and accounting service providers.
- Manage all audit reviews including internal audit, SOX, US GAAP and local GAAP.
- Assist business partners with all practical aspects of the Procure to Pay cycle.
- Assist with the operational aspects of pharmaceutical 3PLs, wholesaler and other stakeholders within the material and financial supply chain.
- Manage the financial relationship with 3rd party distributors.
- Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
- Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices
- Miscellaneous projects as they arise including assisting the European team with multi-country projects
Qualifications & Profile :
- 10 -12 years of relevant experience in Finance, Accounting, Forecasting or Analytics of which the last 5-7 in a multi-national pharmaceutical (mandatory) in a leadership postion
- Experience in building out/establishing an international finance function.
- Comfortable in operating in a fast paced environment
- All round broad Finance function experience with strong FPA and Accounting skills and exposure to Treasury, Tax,…..
- Excellent technical and analytical skills in finance, forecasting, financial analysis and budgeting. An understanding of business disciplines to develop, analyze and interpret financial data.
- Excellent communication skills combined with cultural sensitivity and an ability to work well with all levels and departments within the company.
Willingness to be hands-on; desire to work in a fast paced, changing environment, excellent communication skills combined with cultural sensitivity, excellent spoken/written English with any of the Sub-Region languages a plus
