Main Purpose:
The Counterparty Documentation Specialist plays a crucial role in managing legal and counterparty risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and facilitating smooth and efficient trading operations within the commodities trading company.
This is a fixed term contract position with a minimum duration of 7 months.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:
- 3-5 years experience in ISDA and master agreement negotiation for financial and commodity derivative trading
- Legal background, ideally English law
- Self-starter who is detail-oriented, hard-working, flexible and able to build relationships across departments
- Confident and effective communicator who is able to relay legal concepts to the business;
- Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines, rigorous with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency and can prioritize various requests simultaneously
- Able to work independently
- Excel and Word/Outlook competent
- Excellent English verbal and written communication
Key Responsibilities
- Review, negotiate and advise on various master agreements such as ISDAs, EFETS, BFOEs for commodity lines ranging from gas & power to carbon and renewables
- Review and advise on parent company guarantees
- Co-ordinate facilitate, identify and resolve internal / external blockages
- Advise all areas of the business on legal concepts in the master agreements as and when required
- Follow industry developments
- Manage contract management system, maintain templates for all agreement types
- Maintain global agreements tracker
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and systems development
