MSC Cruises, a global leader in the cruise industry, is seeking a Corporate Communications Senior Specialist to join our dynamic team at our Geneva headquarters. Reporting into the VP Corporate Communications, the successful candidate will focus on delivering, adapting and improving and enhancing existing corporate communications practices globally. The role will have a strong focus on reputation management and crisis response for the Cruise Division of MSC Group but will also involve global business/corporate media relations and sustainability communications. We are looking for a hands-on, well-rounded corporate communications professional who is an expert communicator with a proven track-record in corporate media relations and has experience working either at a European or global level. The successful candidate is someone who will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced international organisation.
- Native-level English, other European languages are an advantage;
- Confident, competitive communications professional with 5 years’ experience in delivering high-quality corporate communications ideally, but not limited to, within the hospitality industry or sustainability sectors;
- Reputation management experience including preparing for and responding to issues and crises.
- Experience of managing business media is important whether for public or private companies, or ideally both;
- Experience of managing communications around sustainability and environmental topics a bonus.
- A track record of successful business media relations with a good working knowledge of European media ;
- Experience can be from agency and/or in-house roles, ideally related to managing reputations of both privately-owned and publicly-traded organizations;
- Effective in both formal and informal settings with business media, senior executives, peers and business partners;
- Flexible, able to roll up her/his sleeves and lead by influence, with an unshakeable can-do attitude;
- Proactive, self-starter, action and results oriented corporate communications professional.
- Working closely with the VP Corporate Communications, supporting the management of the Company’s issues and crisis communications preparedness and governance by developing response materials for emerging issues and reputational threats as well as implementing frameworks for response with local and global teams, and external agencies;
- Assist in delivering the global corporate communications strategy by translating the business goals into externally facing corporate communications materials and approaches;
- Utilise existing relevant experience to integrate the company’s sustainability messaging into wider corporate communication activities including placement of key interviews and features with top tier media;
- Work with external corporate communications agency support by aligning teams on priorities and strategies to ensure seamless execution globally and in key markets such as the UK, USA, Germany, France and Switzerland;
- Manage personal relationships with key journalists, alongside in-market globally based PR teams and agencies, to pitch and cultivate story developments;
- Partner with key departments within the Company, including Sales, Finance and Marketing, to deliver high-value and quality corporate communications;
- Write and edit corporate and financial press releases, talking points, presentations, scripts, briefing sheets and other materials;
- Attend relevant events and oversee delivery of interviews, press conferences, conferences and other media related activities;
- Help develop, implement and maintain appropriate metrics to evaluate impact and effectiveness of the function.
