As Claims Analyst, you will assist the Senior Claims Adjuster, in handling a technical and administrative workload, of global Property and Casualty insurance and reinsurance claims, ensuring all claims are handled in accordance with regulatory guidelines, while applying Company and Best Practices. The ideal candidate, has some insurance experience and understands basic insurance concepts and terminology and is willing to expand their knowledge, as a part of a growing global claims team. The role would grow, as the candidate learns technical aspects of handling Property and Casualty insurance and reinsurance claims, mostly focused on the Aviation business. We are looking for a team member, who is committed to learning and developing their career, within our claims organization.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Under the guidance of the Senior Claims Adjuster, verify coverage on all reported losses and establish claim files, in the financial system, used by SiriusPoint

  • Analyze insurance and reinsurance treaties and/or facultative certificates, evaluate, recommend and post reserves on assigned files

  • Evaluate and verify contractual obligations, to pay respective claims. Recommend and process payments and recoveries on assigned files

  • Document files with status memos/updated notes, as well as action plans, in file notes

  • Track occurrence and/or aggregate limits, where applicable

  • Learn to conduct internal audits and communicate findings

  • Prepare reports for management on assigned accounts, where appropriate prepare ceded notices and/or proofs, where appropriate

  • Participate in client meetings when necessary

  • Perform other duties as assigned or as may be necessary

  • Review and act upon, on a daily basis, the incoming mail/correspondence for assigned accounts


Technical Skills & Experience:

  • University education with 1-3 years of general insurance experience and/or training. Aviation experience preferred, but not required.

  • Strong computer skills a must, especially in Excel

  • Fluent in English, other languages are a plus

  • Excellent verbal and writing skills

  • Interest in joining a growing claims team, that supports a culture of technical proficiency and ability to learn and grow

  • Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding, to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems, as they relate to claims handling. Possess/exude a team player job attitude
