Job Details

itContracting are seeking applications for an Azure Data Engineer, this is an initial 6-month day rate contract position in Dublin. The role is hybrid with a max 3 days onsite per week.
 
The primary responsibilities of the role

  • Integrate and transform data from multiple sources (structured and unstructured) into the data warehouse, optimising the structure for insights, analytics, and other data applications.
  • End-to-end project delivery and change management including development, testing, deployment and the creation and maintenance of technical documentation.
  • Work closely with data analysts to help them get the most out of our data and enable the discovery of actionable insights that support decision making.
  • In collaboration with cross-functional experts across IT, Information Security and Data Protection, understanding and adhering to the current data privacy, security and regulatory compliance policies and frameworks.
  • Provide first and second line support for data systems introduced to service by the Data Analytics and Intelligence Team.
  • Contribute to developing and improving IÉ’s data governance practices and standards; and
  • Contribute to the development of IÉ’s in-house capabilities by facilitating knowledge transfer and development of SOPs.

 
Required Skillset

  • Strong programming skills in both SQL and Python.
  • Experience working with, and certification in, the Azure suite of tools including, Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Purview, Power BI and Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with relational data systems and data architecture paradigms (e.g. SQL, NoSQL, Spark, Delta Lakehouse)
  • Understanding of data warehouse architecture, design and development, data quality principles and agile processes.
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and DataOps best practices including coding standards, code reviews, version control, build process, testing and operations.
  • Experience working with the systems and data types which IÉ intends to integrate into the Data Warehouse including SAP ERP, Oracle Databases, Microsoft Dynamics, MS SQL Server, On-prem Databases (including both Structured and unstructured data)
