Associate Engineer Full-time Job

Job Details

Due to a significant volume of new major infrastructure projects secured with our key clients we are looking for an experienced Associate engineer (civil/mechanical/electrical/ or similar suitable experience), to join RPS and help us deliver marquee projects in our Republic of Ireland Water and Utilities sectors. This includes projects with EirGrid, Eriva/GNI, Irish Water and TII.


RPS is also active in the renewable energy sector and delivering projects supporting Ireland Climate Action Plan – our current project portfolio includes; industrial projects, wind energy projects, solar, electricity distribution projects, Carbon Capture & Storage and hydrogen feasibility studies.


The ideal candidate for this role will have relevant experience in the engineering consultancy industry and will become a valued member of our Water and Utilities team. Experience of design on utilities projects in Ireland will be an advantage but is not essential. The role will involve taking on a lead design role and assisting in the ongoing training and development of other team members.


Qualifications And Experience


The desired qualifications and experience for the Senior Design Engineer are:


  • Level 8 degree in Engineering
  • 10+ years of relevant post graduate experience in engineering consultancy.
  • Chartered Engineer status or equivalent is an advantage; candidates should be seeking to achieve this status if not already achieved.
  • Experience in the design of engineering infrastructure projects
  • Hold a clean driving licence

Computer Skills


Position Specific Competencies:


  • MS Office Suite (advanced user of MS Excel preferred).
  • Experience of Autodesk suite (including Civil 3D, BIM 360, ACC)

  • Written – excellent report writing.
  • Verbal – excellent communications skills.

Technical


  • Strong technical experience in delivery of projects in engineering consultancies.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency along with the ability to adapt, innovate and meet changing demands.
  • Demonstrate a successful track record and strong knowledge of design, procurement and contract administration across various stages of engineering projects.
  • Proven track record in dealing with complex / escalated issues, proactively and in a timely fashion and ability to achieve results within the set timeframe.
  • Have a good knowledge & experience of Health & Safety legislation and regulations.
  • Proven knowledge and experience of working with/to accredited Integrated Management Systems & Standards including quality, environment, health-and-safety, data security, risk, BIM etc.
