About the Role

Come and join our global trade finance team as Trade Finance Associate Underwriter and take responsibility for processing and underwriting of letter of credit and similar transactions for our banking clients.

This might be your next challenge:

  • Analyze risk and underwriting features of incoming letter of credit, documentary trade and similar transactions
  • Prepare underwriting decisions, complete underwriting system reconciliation entries
  • Take accountability for end-to-end execution of transactions
  • Service clients, investigate and raise any issues along the value chain
  • Prepare and review insurance documents and contracts for existing and new clients
  • Take ownership for monitoring bound transactions and premium. Target and track premium against client wallet share targets
  • Support onboarding and use of digital solutions (e.g. Capacity Supermarket) to enable clients to complete transactions more efficiently
  • Attend client meetings and discussions
  • Be part of a global team and cooperate with colleagues and business partners worldwide

Essentials

  • Completed university level education (Master or Bachelor's degree) preferably in Economics with specialization in Insurance or Finance; or equivalent professional experience in insurance distribution.
  • Associates Degree or job experience equivalent
  • Experience in letter of credit, documentary trade or trade finance transactions in financial industry, corporate banking, or insurance policies
  • Previous experience in client facing role in finance environment helpful
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of trade finance and guarantee business
  • Familiarity with sanctions and AML procedures, commercial and company law, UCP600, URDG758 is a plus
  • Proficiency in English language (reading, writing and speaking) is a must.
  • Demonstrate good digital literacy and experience with Microsoft Office. SWIFT messages for documentary business a plus
  • Demonstrate proficiency in intermediate level math, administrative and clerical procedures including handling files and records, general economic and accounting principles, and processes for providing customer service
  • Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, seminars, and programs to learn about new processes and guidelines, learn new skills, and stay updated with the team.
