Climeworks removes CO₂ from the air to fight global warming and protect future generations to come.

We develop, build and operate direct air capture (DAC) machines which capture CO₂ directly from the air. The captured carbon dioxide is removed from the air by safely storing it underground, permanently.

Founded in 2009 by engineers, Christoph Gebald and Jan Wurzbacher, Climeworks was built with a mission to inspire 1 billion people to remove CO₂ from the air, and is now spearheading the DAC industry globally. It has the world’s largest DAC facility and storage installation in operation and a team of over 300 Climeworkers determined to contribute to a net-zero future.

Your mission

• Your mission at Climeworks is to enable rapid testing of new product ideas and concepts delivering reliable results to make continue, pivot or kill decision.
• You operate existing test facilities and monitor plant performance
• You execute test activities and prototypes of product development, i.e. testing of new hardware components, new sorbent materials and adsorption processes, and ensure reproducible test results
• You assist during commissioning of the new and existing test facilities and prototypes and make sure that the quality of the measurements and the measurement data fits the requirements
• You work in close collaboration with other teams and departments to plan, build or adjust and commission new test facilities
• You coordinate and monitor test operations and the solutions to any occurring problem
• You enable the set testing requirements of product development and support the optimizations to current test setups and make sure they are implemented after approval

Your story

• You have a degree as a Techniker (HF) in mechanical engineering or similar
• You have at least 6 years’ practical work experience in a similar position
• You have hands on experience in testing and prototyping
• You have knowledge of testing process designs on a small and medium scale as well as of thermo- and fluid dynamics
• You are able to work with unknown or lacking information, show flexibility and adaptability in your daily work
• You have a good command of English
