Senior Engineer - Process Simulation and Carbon Capture Technology (m/w) - Full Time - Allschwil, Switzerland

Join our Process Plants team within Chemtech as Senior Engineer Process Simulation and carbon capture technology (m/w).
In this role, you will perform engineering work within the framework of the projects of the Applications and Process Technology Group, especially in the field of carbon capture.
As a senior engineer of process simulation and carbon capture technology, you will support the development, optimization, and execution of process solutions aimed to capture CO2 from industrial exhaust gases.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
- Contribute with expert advice on process design and simulations to ensure correct implementation of Sulzer technologies in studies and projects
- Perform process simulations, develop heat and mass balances and other process deliverables in proposals and projects
- Have full responsibility for the process design of equipment and units
- Ensure that technical specifications and procedures associated with Sulzer technologies have the necessary quality in projects and products
- Interact with customers as part of business development and project execution
- Be accountable for the project management with technical and commercial responsibility for engineering projects (e.g., conceptual studies)
- Contribute to developing and improving in-house process design tools
- Identify and assess patentable inventions related to Sulzer technologies
- Train and educate colleagues, front sales organization (including agents) on a regular basis based on the company requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- MSc or PhD within Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Proven expertise in process simulation (e.g., Aspen Plus, ProTreat, OLI, etc.)
- Experience with process design and engineering in projects
- Experience in carbon capture technologies and particularly in solvent-based post combustion capture
- Knowledge in separation technologies and plant design
- Experience with pilot testing
- Experience from implementing RD&I results into industrial applications
- Good understanding of technology development and qualifications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to defend own ideas with a customer focus
- Great team player, strong organization ability, very independent, flexible, trustworthy and adaptable
- Fluent in English, both oral and written. German is a plus. Further languages are beneficial
- Travel requirements: max 10% of the time
