Real Estate Country Manager, ABB Switzerland

Your role and responsibilities

As a Portfolio Development and Divestment Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing diverse development and divestment projects, for sites and facilities owned by ABB. You will be responsible for engaging with various internal and external stakeholders, and supervising the operational, legal and financial implications. Your ability to direct and support multiple confidential or highly sensitive process, interacting with public affairs, consultants and different internal departments will be crucial in this role. The work model for the role is: hybrid #LI-hybrid You will be mainly accountable for: • Managing corporate and operational divestment plans by contributing to the development of strategies aligned with ABB’s priorities, overseeing the execution of these plans, and ensuring compliance with governance procedures. • Leading, supporting, and supervising real estate investments and divestments in ABB-owned or leased facilities, ensuring formal approval and alignment with ABB governance procedures while cooperating with legal, controlling, and tax departments. • Managing external consultants throughout the divestment process, including tasks like due diligence, property evaluation, organizing timing and milestones, supervising data rooms, negotiating contract details, and coordinating with local authorities. • Preparing and presenting financial reports to local and global senior management, providing insights into divestment and investment activities while ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards.

Qualifications for the role

  • At least 8 years of experience in the corporate real estate sector with good knowledge of the Swiss construction market.
  • Bachelor’s degree in real estate, business administration and/or similar.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an entrepreneurial, proactive, customer service-based mindset with the ability to work independently in a demanding and dynamic environment, as well as high level of teamwork skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to establish effective relationships with internal & external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Fluency in German and English.
