About the role
- Our Rare earth R&I team, composed of 45 people, is integrated within the Research and Development department and focuses on advancing mineral synthesis processes in collaboration with production and quality control teams.
- As a Mineral Chemistry Synthesis Engineer, you will work on designing, planning, and executing mineral synthesis experiments to support innovation in material science. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of new synthesis processes, product characterization, and laboratory safety, having a positive impact on the quality and safety of the team’s work.

You will be accountable for:
- Designing and conducting mineral synthesis experiments and developing and optimizing synthesis processes
- Characterizing synthesis products through physical-chemical analyses and spectroscopy
- Interpreting experimental results and proposing continuous improvements
- Collaborating with R&D, production, and quality control teams
- Maintaining an updated scientific and technological knowledge base in mineral chemistry
- We offer a permanent contract based on an onsite working mode in La Rochelle.
About you
- PhD in Mineral or Inorganic Chemistry
- Relevant work experience in mineral synthesis and material characterization in industry or academic environment
- Competencies:
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and analytical equipment
- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge in mineral chemistry
- Excellent communication skills in both French and English (written and oral)

About the pay and benefits
- Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the primary country (France) base pay reasonably expected for this role is 62 000 euros to 78 000 euros, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
