Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain vocational experience through a temporary work placement (6 months). Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB’s operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities. The work model for the role is: onsite #LI-Onsite This role is contributing to the experimental team at the ABB corporate research center in Baden-Dättwil, Aargau, Switzerland. In this 6-month internship you will support the research team in experimental tasks. These include CAD preparation, hands-on work in assembling and development of novel concepts for low/medium voltage switchgear. The intern will join the experimental team in the laboratory to test the developed solutions. You will be mainly responsible for: • Construction of experimental setups • Participating in designing of the novel concepts for low and medium voltage switchgear • Executing experimental tasks within the ABB research team • Evaluating experimental results and performing data analysis

Qualifications for the role

• You currently pursue a degree (advanced B.Sc. or M.Sc.) in electrical/mechanical engineering or related subject
• You have hands-on experience in experimental work in a lab
• You are proficient in CAD software or willing to learn it
• You are able to work in a large research team
• You are at ease communicating in English
• Non-EU/non-EFTA citizens, please note that a certificate from your university, showing that an internship is a mandatory part of your studies, is required for the visa application
