Engineer (Component Structural Analysis)
Westinghouse is leading the world nuclear industry and shaping a carbon-free future.
Within the global Component Engineering department, the Component Structural Analysis team regroup multicultural engineers in Spain and Belgium. The main tasks of the group are a wide range of advanced engineering evaluations and analyses performed on nuclear safety class major components and piping. The group is also providing many services within the structural mechanic’s discipline, such as design activities, plant walkdown and support field interventions. The areas of expertise are structural, fatigue, and fracture mechanics evaluations. Main projects participation examples are support to long term operation, seismic qualification, major component replacement and plant modifications.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND DUTIES
- Member of the Component Structural Analysis group performing engineering evaluations and analyses of technical products and services within the structural mechanics field.
- Responsible for hand calculations as well as Finite Element Analysis calculations performed in ANSYS to verify the qualification of components of nuclear power plants following appropriate standards.
- Thorough documentation of analyses in English and French.
- Propose integrated solutions to technical challenges that may arise during projects.
- Participate to integrated and international project teams and communicate to involved parties.
- Possibility to travel to nuclear site to support field interventions or customer meetings.
Requirements
- MS degree in Mechanical engineering
- Interested in stress analysis of mechanical components, Finite Element Analysis software for analysis of structures
- Interested in the Nuclear Industry
- Fluent in English with proven reporting skills
