The Catering New Build Director is responsible in leading and coordinating project related matters of all newly developed and revitalization concepts for the Food & Beverage division. This includes developing business cases presentations, managing budget activities, risk assessments, harmonization of equipment specifications, managing owners supply requirements and continually focus on innovative design aspects to improve our technical dynamics within F&B operations. The Catering New Build Director will work on concept ideation and visionary advancement projects, acting as business leader to key internal (Operations, Owners) and external stakeholders (Contract Builder, Manufactures, Franchises).

  • Previous experience in a managing role, minimum 10 years;
  • Extensive experience in project planning, management direction and completion of shipbuilding concepts and major refit projects for major cruise vessels;
  • Fluent English. Any additional language is an advantage;
  • Computer literate with MS Office, knowledge of DWG is an advantage;
  • Experience with naval design software such as advanced AutoCAD
  • Advanced Project Management skills and proven ability in leading multiple projects;
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams and at all organizational levels;
  • Focused & proactive attitude in optimizing resources & reporting on projects delivery;
  • Excellent Analytical and detail-oriented skills;
  • This position requires a minimum of 30% travel.
  • Ensures new building vessels are designed in line with F&B strategic aims and delivered in an operationally ready state across all hotel operations;
  • Develops F&B specifications in accordance with brand strategy and operational requirements, defining design and product direction for new builds;
  • Oversees F&B areas design, coordinating architectural drawing phases and reviewing contractual owner’s drawings (i.e. Counter areas, restaurants, bars, food stores, provision areas & crew mess);
  • Ensures all F&B areas and operational design meet or exceed Public Health guidelines and food safety regulations;
  • Coordinates & leads multiple food and beverage projects from concept to successful completion;
  • Builds and oversees budget related requirements to each project, including business case analysis;
  • Develops & deploys robust processes to achieve operational excellence;
  • Liaise with brand strategy, innovation and product departments to establish the positioning of the F&B concept;
  • Interfaces with design teams involved in order to solve design & technical matters;
  • Stays abreast of all changes in hospitality industry and in the cruise sector at large, in order to continuously identify improvement opportunities.
