Research Project Assistant (m/f/d)

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Transparency International Secretariat is currently seeking a Research Project Assistant (m/f/d) as part of the Research & Knowledge Team to support activities related to Corruption Perception Project (CPI).

The Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) is the most widely used global corruption ranking in the world. It measures how corrupt each country’s public sector is perceived to be, according to experts and businesspeople.

Salary Band: Midi Job on hourly wage (16 EU/hour)

Starting Date: as soon as possible

Contract Duration: Currently we can offer a temporary employment contract limited until 28 February 2025

Working Hours: part time [20 hours per week, paid at hourly rate]

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE

Reporting to the Head of Research & Knowledge, the Research Project Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Data Verification and Accuracy Check
    Conduct thorough checks on all communications, policy materials, and data submissions to ensure accuracy and consistency in the data used across products.
  • Global Stakeholder Communication
    Monitor the CPI email account to maintain clear and organised communication with various national chapters, draft responses where possible or seek input from relevant colleagues to address inquiries and requests efficiently.
  • Content Review and Editing
    Assist in reviewing and editing content related to the CPI, ensuring clarity, consistency, and accuracy, while adapting materials for different audiences as needed. The research associate will also keep track of country mentions that require vetting by national chapters before publication.
  • Translation Coordination
    Support the process of translating relevant CPI materials by liaising with translators and internal reviewers.
  • Project Support for Indicator Launch
    Provide overall administrative and operational support to ensure the successful launch of the CPI.
  • Update methodological documents
    Help review and incorporate changes to relevant research documents, particularly the CPI source description and the technical and short methodologies.
  • Internal communications and access to CPI results
    Keep the CPI SharePoint page updated with the latest CPI-related outputs, liaise with the Global Movement and Technology teams to ensure all relevant parties at the chapter level enjoy proper access to CPI results and liaise with the communications team to keep chapters updated on latest CPI developments.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

In order to succeed in this role, candidates will need to meet the following:

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage and verify data accurately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in managing international correspondence.
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills, with experience in adapting materials for multiple audiences.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to track and manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Knowledge or experience in policy research, international governance, or anti-corruption efforts is a plus.
