To enhance our EU and North America conference team, we are seeking a Senior Conference Manager to oversee and coordinate conference operations. This role involves collaborating closely with the Marketing Manager and senior leadership to establish annual conference targets and shape the company’s long-term conference strategy. You will manage the hiring strategy, provide oversight for the conference team’s work, and ensure timely and accurate execution of projects and milestones. This is a full-time, permanent position based in our office.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the European and North American conference team
- Develop the overall strategy for the conference team in close collaboration with the Marketing and Communication Department
- Oversee and ensure the financial stability of the team
- Revise and update guidelines and agreements
- Monitor conference performance by analyzing attendees' feedback, user engagement and email campaign success
- Monitor and evaluate the team members' performance
- Provide new suggestions and improvements for in-house conference platform
- Identify opportunities for process enhancement and stay informed about industry trends and best practices
Requirements
- Educational background: A university degree (Masters preferred), preferably in the field of Event Management, or related field
- General Work Experience: 5-7 years of experience in event management and team leadership. Experience in academic conferences is highly preferred.
- Project Management skills, including event planning, budget management, and time management
- Leadership and Team management, including ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Communication skills, including the ability to negotiate contract and agreement
- Proven track record in resolving complex issues, prioritizing tasks effectively, and making strategic decisions under pressure
- Strong knowledge of CMS platforms, digital marketing tools, and data analytics
