Job Description

The ideal candidate for the position of Remarketing Operations Manager is driven to actively develop and execute all aspects of GM’s used car operations across all European markets. This entails establishing and developing partnerships with key remarketing partners across Europe and leading the day-to-day used car operations.

Additionally, you will be tasked with budget planning, forecasting, and supplier management to ensure operational efficiency and financial control over the different active European markets. Close collaboration with a variety of internal and external partners is crucial for streamlining operations, driving improvements in inventory management, refurbishment processes, and ensuring overall used vehicle quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and oversee the end-to-end process of Used Car Operations in Europe.
  • Support and improve GM Europe Wholesales Operations
  • Track and manage operating expenses, ensuring that all processes are aligned with budgetary goals.
  • Provide accurate and timely forecasting of inventory levels, vehicle sales, and refurbishment capacity to meet market demands.
  • Coordinate and build successful relationship with third-party partners across Europe to ensure efficient and effective reconditioning operations.
  • Monitor and enforce GM Used Cars Quality standards, ensuring compliance with European regulations and GM’s certified pre-owned program.
  • Partner with Sales, Aftersales, Logistics, Finance to provide regular updates and reports on inventory status, reconditioning progress, and partner performance.
  • Train and mentor European team members and partners on best practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Build a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the European remarketing operations team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in remarketing, aftersales, inventory management or a related role within the automotive industry.
  • Sound understanding of the remarketing practices, players and KPIs in the major European markets. A strong network with key potential partners for remarketing operations is considered a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement solutions to drive efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build relationships and work through challenges with partners.
  • Ability and willingness to travel across Europe.
  • Familiarity with European automotive regulations and standards.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and mentor teams effectively. Hands-on mindset.
  • Proficiency in English, plus either German or French.
