Description
Within the High Voltage Products Business Unit (BU), the Technology Center (TC) Italy is responsible – as part of a global R&D organization – for the development and optimization of products such as Metal-Enclosed Circuit Breakers, Hybrid Switchgear, and Instrument Transformers.
As R&D Project Manager, you will be part of TC Italy, located in Lodi. Reporting to the R&D Team Manager, you will develop new eco-efficient or enhanced products by leading and managing the execution of one or more projects. You will leverage your skills to coordinate work of local/international and cross-functional project team/s, lead in partnership with local business managers, steering groups, product management and external parties.
Your responsibilities
- Lead all the stages of new product development and implementation, ensuring appropriate handling of change requests and meeting the specified targets in terms of product cost, project cost and time-to-market.
- Effectively coordinate international and cross-functional teams, managing collaboration with stakeholders, internal functions, other Technology and/or Research Centers and relevant external parties.
- Deliver the required functionalities with focus on safety, quality and cost aspects, ensure project results are transferred to relevant line organization or department responsible. Capture lessons learned.
- Follow sound methodology and project execution practices in accordance with standard internal directives and procedures. Ensure projects follow external technical and quality standards.
- Identify, contain and reduce risks, ensuring transparency around unforeseen results/events. Support with technical analyses if necessary.
- Serves as the key contact for the project stakeholders. Effectively communicates appropriate information to stakeholders in a timely manner and to achieve desired understanding and support.
- Build up own relevant professional network to support ongoing activities.
Your background
- Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or similar
- At least 2-year experience in technical project management in the industrial field, with preference to the electromechanical industry
- Knowledge and experience of structured product development processes
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office suite
- Excellent documentation, presentation and communication skills
- Strong attitude to coordinate international and cross-functional teams
- Fluent English and Italian
- Knowledge of CAD and FEM software is a plus
- Knowledge of PLM and ERP systems is a plus
