You Are:

You are a highly skilled and motivated R&D Engineer with a strong background in applied physics, engineering, or applied mathematics. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are passionate about developing new models and numerical recipes for advanced simulations. You are also skilled in parallel programming, C++ and Python development, and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a good command of the English language.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Designing and implementing new models for the manufacturing processes of nano-scale semiconductor devices.
  • Developing novel numerical recipes for simulation and performance optimization.
  • Collaborating with the application engineering team to integrate and validate models.
  • Conducting research and staying updated on the latest advancements in semiconductor technology.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of simulation models through rigorous testing and validation.
  • Contributing to the overall improvement of Synopsys' TCAD tools and methodologies.

What You’ll Need:

  • PhD or MS in Physics, Engineering, or Applied Mathematics with 5+ years of experience in developing large, complex engineering applications.
  • Strong design/programming skills in C++ related to computational physics, 3D geometry, or 3D graphics.
  • Solid understanding of numerical methods and object-oriented programming.
  • Experience with high-performance algorithms and parallel programming (TBB, OpenMP, MPI).
  • Proficiency in Python development.

  • Knowledgeable in discretization methods (FD, FDTD, FEM, FVM) for numerical solutions of PDEs.
  • Experienced in direct simulation Monte Carlo methods.
  • Skilled in multiphysics simulation.
