Skills:

• AWS Fargate, Docker, Linux environments, configuration management, Java, bash scripting or any other scripting language
• CI/CD pipelines with knowledge of release management to release/deploy new version of software having updates/fixes

Experience:

• Required: At least 8 years of hands-on experience in managing and supporting production environments running JAVA applications.

• 3rd level technical support

Project objectives:

The incumbent will be assigned to the support team of External systems development section where he/she will contribute to and execute the required monitoring and support of all external facing applications, and performs all related activities to ensure smooth, timely and efficient service availability to maintain business as usual.

Tasks:

• Carry out daily operational tasks on the PCT external business applications portfolio ensuring system availability and optimum performance
• Establish, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot complex information systems processes and critical events that contribute to business operations; perform recovery exercises including coordination with stakeholders.
• Perform software development, maintenance and debugging of PCT external applications
• Perform systems and data analysis tasks; compile and analyze statistics on production activities and prepare related reports.
• Perform unit, system and integration testing and assist users with user acceptance testing.
• Establish, support and execute repeatable processes to ensure, automate and/or optimize the PCT Operations schedule and maintain system security and integrity.
• Troubleshoot and provide technical support to users to diagnose and resolve problems; escalate complex issues requiring further investigation/intervention; provide guidance on the use of new techniques, monitor transactions to measure performance and continued improvement of systems.
• Update and maintain operational and technical documentation.

Perform other related duties as required :

• All tasks are performed in consultation with PCT Information Systems teams (Internal and External development, Quality Control and Operations).

PCTISD is looking for a production and support engineer to carry out operational tasks on the PCT external business applications portfolio ensuring system availability and optimum performance on an ongoing basis.

The working environment includes the following tech, tools and processes:
AWS fargate, Docker, Bamboo, Tomcat, Wildfly, Java, SQL, JIRA.

Deliverables:

• PCT External applications, Production and Support tasks performed in a timely fashion following the agreed Incident Resolution Times values
• PCT External applications, Production and Support lifecycle followed and implemented
• Documentation and user guides
