Our client is a renowned multinational retail chain with numerous stores in European countries and the US.

We are currently seeking a PROPERTY ASSET MANAGER for Spain. The ideal candidate will be responsible for effectively managing all property-related matters, ensuring cost control, and maintaining positive relationships with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage property portfolio in Spain, providing essential support for all property matters.
  • Control property costs by efficiently handling lease renewals and negotiations.
  • Oversee extension and relocation projects for existing assets.
  • Proactively manage all portfolio lease events to ensure continuity of the retail estate.
  • Collaborate closely with various departments, offering assistance related to property agreements, title issues, and other property matters.
  • Manage store closures or asset disposals as required.
  • Ensure timely reporting of all property-related costs to the Head of Asset Management.
  • Manage rent and service charge reviews.
  • Maintain accurate Spanish property data in the database.
  • Stay up to date with property law and planning policy changes.
  • Handle a large number of high-value assets simultaneously.
  • Align property portfolio management with operational objectives.
  • Minimize property cost outgoings within legal and ethical boundaries while maximizing income where applicable.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Good working knowledge of Spanish cities, high streets, and shopping centers.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English; Portuguese proficiency is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of Spanish Property Law.
  • At least 5 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Previous experience in retail, landlord/developer, or private practice settings is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Excel.
  • Proven track record in property management.
  • Willingness to travel within Spain and Portugal, potentially requiring overnight stays.
